Proposal 207 authors took cash from the legalization and policy of leisure cannabis for what they called a justice reinvestment program.

A regional not-for-profit is asking individuals to inform them how money from a name fund must be invested.

Job Roots prepares to look for a grant when federal government authorities send an ask for propositions.

State law states justice reinvestment programs can be an effort to deal with the underlying reasons for criminal activity or a push to decrease the jail population.

Today the not-for-profit’s Executive Director Dionne Washington is welcoming individuals to voice their ideas at listening sessions set up for each Thursday in September.

” We need to know, what does neighborhood justice reinvestment appear like to them?” stated Washington.

State law breaks down how cash from the justice reinvestment fund gets divided.

Seventy percent is expected to fund grants to nonprofits from state and county health departments.

The rest is to be invested in public health problems impacting Arizona.
